The 21st annual
Horry County Museum Quilt Gala will be held Friday February 27th from 10am – 4pm
and Saturday February 25th from 10am - 4pm at Ocean Lakes Family Campground
Recreation Center, located on Hwy 17 South in Myrtle Beach, SC. The
admission is $5.00 per person; students with ID and children under 12 are free.
The Gala will host demonstrators,
speakers and the 2015 Featured Quilter is Karen Kirkland.
Participants will get the opportunity to see
a bed turning with a narrated explanation of the history behind some antique
quilts. Several demonstrators will be
present giving scheduled talks or the art and style of quilting. We will have local and regional vendors on
hand to support, consult, and aid the quilters with various quilting
merchandise.
The challenge theme for the
21st Annual Quilt Gala is “Not Lincoln’s Log Cabin”. Winners of each category will receive a
ribbon, and all the blue ribbon winners from each category will be displayed in
the Museum during the month of March.
