Fish Camp
Update!
"The
county will be hosting a meeting with the Smith Company and the area communities
to discuss the Fish Camp project. The meeting will be held on July 12 at 10:00am
at the Inlet Sq. Mall Community Room (beside the Stein Mart). The county called
this meeting so our communities could address their concerns to the builder, so
if you have any interest in this matter, it's highly recommend you attend if
possible.
"I have heard that trees are being taken down around the
lake and some people have gotten quite upset about it. Keep in mind that Smith
owns this land and has a legal right to take down every tree if he wants. He is
going to develop this land and in South Carolina he can shoot you if he feels
threatened on his property. What we are wrestling for here is how the area is
going to be developed. The current fight is to prevent the land from being
rezoned to "urban high density" so he can't build 100 town homes on stilts
around the lake. This is going to be a long-term effort and we will have more
battles to come on this matter, but we can have a major impact on how this area
will ultimately developed if we stay engaged in the fight."
