TRAFFIC SHIFT ON THE NEW US17 BYPASS/SC707 INTERCHANGE BRIDGES TO BEGIN SUNDAY​
Conway, South Carolina – Contractors will begin shifting traffic on the southbound bridge of the new US17 Bypass/SC707 Interchange on Sunday, October 19 at 8 p.m. The complete traffic shift for the southbound bridge will take approximately three days to complete and will be finalized on Tuesday, October 21, at 6 a.m. Motorists can expect limited nighttime (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) lane closures southbound on US17 Bypass on October 19 and 20.

The traffic shift for the northbound bridge will begin on Sunday, October 26, at 8 p.m. and will have a similar schedule as the southbound bridge. The complete traffic shift for the northbound bridge will take approximately three days to complete and is expected to be finalized on Tuesday, October 28, at 6 a.m., weather permitting. Motorist can expect limited nighttime (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) lane closures northbound on US17 Bypass on October 26 & 27.

The entire project will be substantially completed in November 2014 and landscaping will continue into 2015.

HORRY COUNTY COMMUNITY CLEANUP DAY

Conway, South Carolina - Horry County Council, in conjunction with Keep Horry County Beautiful and numerous partners, will host a countywide, volunteer litter cleanup event Saturday, November 8, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The event will feature 11-locations around the county where volunteers can choose to participate. Sign-in at each location will begin at 8:30 a.m. with roadside pickup to begin at 9 am to 11:30 am. 

Volunteers are invited to a post celebration party at the Myrtle Beach Speedway from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.  The litter collected at the various locations around the county will be transported to and displayed at the Speedway.  There will be food, prizes, entertainment, and much more!

HORRY COUNTY VEHICLE TAX RECEIPTS CHANGED

Conway, South Carolina � Effective immediately, citizens who mail in their annual vehicle tax payment or drop their payment off in one of the Horry County Treasurer�s drop box locations, will receive a receipt with their renewal registration and sticker from the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles instead of the county mailing a separate vehicle tax receipt.  Citizens who pay in person or online will continue to receive a printed receipt.

The Horry County Treasurer�s Office has office locations in:
  • Conway at the Horry County Government & Justice Center, 1301 Second Avenue,
  • Myrtle Beach at the Olin Blanton Complex, 1201 21st Avenue,
  • Socastee/Myrtle Beach at the South Strand Complex, 9630 Scipio Lane
  • Little River/Longs at the Stephen�s Crossroads Complex, 107 Highway 57 North.

Citizens may visit the Horry County website at www.horrycounty.org to print additional copies of their receipt or pay their taxes online.  Simply click on Online Services and then Tax Payments & Receipts.  The system allows searching by name, receipt number or map number.
